According to Lee Schlesinger of The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) there are two snook harvest closings approaching. In Dec. 1, in all of Florida’s Gulf of Mexico, Everglades National Park and Monroe County coastal and inland waters, will be close to snook harvesting. The harvest season for snook will remain closed until March 1 in these areas.

All other Florida waters will close on Dec. 15. Including all Atlantic coastal and inland waters, including Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River, and will remain closed until Feb. 1 in these areas.

This is done to protect the population of snook during the colder months. So If your anything like me and you love to catch these fish, the time is running out.
